Uptown Charlotte: One Less Lane for Church Street Near General Office Complex

With the ongoing construction in uptown Charlotte, there will be one less lane of traffic on Church Street for the next three years.

Beginning Monday, March 10, the left lane of Church St. will be closed from Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (formerly Second St.) to Stonewall St. Currently, most of that area is already closed to traffic.

The change is expected to continue through February 2011. Parkers in the South Tryon building will still be able to access the deck via Church St.

Employees will be able to cross Church St. at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., mid-block between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and First St. and Stonewall St. Employees should use extra caution when crossing in these areas because one-way traffic patterns may change.

For questions about other changes due to the construction near the General Office complex, contact John Will at 704-382-7222.
